12 Days Of Holiday Music: Day 3 - "O Come Emmanuel"
In 1710, the Latin text of "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" was first documented in Germany. In 1861, the lyrics were translated to English from Hymns Ancient and Modern. And in 2017, So Noted has graced us with an astonishing arrangement of the religious tune that has brung light and joy to the holidays.
In Day 3 of our "12 Days of Holiday Music" we're highlighting the more sacred side of the holidays with a rendition of this Christmas hymn by the coed group So Noted, from the University of Central Florida.
The group's affectionate, ballad-like arrangement evokes intense sentiment with the lead's soft and honest vocals. The group's contrasting dynamics throughout also make the piece especially touching. So much feeling is derived from So Noted's expressions, breaks in the arrangement and overall genuineness.
We hope you enjoy!
