12 Days Of Holiday Music: Day 6 - You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch
As much as we enjoy the spirit of giving and the immense feeling of happiness that this season brings, can we honestly say that the Christmas holiday would be the same if it didn't have a villain who was as big as the month of December?
By now you should have a good idea of what song is coming next in our lineup for "12 Days of Holiday Music." We'll give you a hint, he's green with envy. That's right. We're talking "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch."
Aside from it being one the most recognizable non-hymnal, type holiday songs, it fills many aca-music lovers with joy because it offers a rare feat in our genre. It requires a bass solo. And who doesn't love a bass solo? Well, you're in for a treat as the Penn State Statesmen have the most fitting soloist and arrangement in mind. The lead's booming lower register is absolutely clutch as he shares the musical tale. His voice is as animated as the popular Christmas movie.
And the performance is only furthered by the fun arrangement that's bouncy and jazzy, executed perfectly by such a cohesive group. Check it out in the video below.
