College A Cappella Groups Raise Their Voices In Stand Against Racial Injustice

"So powerful is the light of unity that it can illuminate the whole earth."
While our community may be a small one, it is a diverse one that has recognized the talents, abilities, creativity and efforts of each of its members, no matter their background. But now, more than ever, our communities are facing extreme racial injustice that has gone unchecked for too long.
Through our platform, we constantly strive to recognize the creative individual abilities of groups who comprise and represent the collegiate a cappella category. In that regard, we'd like to recognize and stand in support of each black member of our community, as well as each person of color. Each of these members truly offer a unique and invaluable contribution to our world of music, as well as to their individual groups in which they take part in on a daily basis.
Without their presence, our community's dynamic and very fiber would be drastically different than what it is today.
Our hearts truly ache at this time due in part to the senseless and unjust killings of black individuals such as George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor, to name a few. We, along with so many others, stand in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and all of the peaceful protests that have occurred to bring about a true and meaningful change.
During this past weekend, we have seen many different college a cappella groups, from all over, recognize and honor this movement, as well as the black members who make up our community. This community is an inclusive one, one that is full of so much love, and one that stands unified.
We feel that it is only appropriate to express how our community stands as a unified voice in equality for all. Below are just a few groups in our community who have made a public announcement to stand as one. Please know that these are just a few examples, and in no way are the only ones who have voiced their support.
