More Than 500 Singers Take Part In The "Varsity Vocals Collective" To Benefit The MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund

Leave it to Varsity Vocals to unite the entire a cappella community.

In their newly released project "Varsity Vocals Collective" the organization behind the a cappella community's biggest vocal competitions brought together more than 500 singers to deliver a mind-blowing performance of "The Bones' by Maren Morris.

Back in April, Varsity Vocals sent out a call to past participants of their competitions to join a virtual project that would "lift spirits through the power of the human voice." The project was conceived in response to COVID-19 prematurely ending the organization's 2020 competition season, which involved more than 10,000 participants. The goal was to encourage social distancing, as well as raise funds for the Recording Academy's MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund.

The result...more than 500 past participants of ICCA, ICHSA and the Aca Open from the last 24 years banding together in glorious harmony!

The cover features a stunning arrangement which builds momentum every step of the way. It's upbeat while simultaneously being filled with gripping emotion.
The performance also has an underlying positive affirmation of resilience echoed beautifully through the singing, and felt convincingly each time the singers utter "we're still standing."

A cappella fans may also recognize a few familiar faces including Peter Hollens (On The Rocks), India Carney (ScatterTones) Sam Creighton (Nor'easters) Jej Vinson (Socal Vocals), most of which are featured as soloists. The video also features an incredible array of other up and coming talent throughout the a cappella community, and even includes some educators who currently direct vocal groups.

It's a stunning video that features incredible production and is exactly what the community needs at this time!
