I once heard from a musician that the goal of one's performance should be to have the audience crying by the end of your performance.
Now, I don't think they meant that those tears should be ones of sorrow, rather to evoke a strong emotional response from the listener. I think more groups in the collegiate space are taking to heart what their overall performance can mean to an audience and are performing arrangements that accomplish this previously mentioned feat.
In this performance by Miami University's Open Fifth, the group is masterful in their delivery of A Great Big World's "Already Home." The group's sound is genuine and moving. Try not shedding a tear after you watch their video.
