One of the elements that we're becoming more aware of in collegiate a cappella is a group's personality.
Gone are the days where a group could simply walk on stage, sing a few upbeat tunes and be regarded as entertaining. With hundreds, if not thousands of groups on the scene, personality is becoming more and more crucial in regards to standing out. Golden Blues, from the University of Delaware are doing this in impressive fashion. I've seen a few of their covers and they do a great job of embodying their own style.
With this performance of Johnnyswim's "Don't Let It Get You Down" they demonstrate that a good performance should sometimes be ever-changing. The song starts off fairly reserved, then builds with some subtle claps and an explosion of vivacity as the soloists let loose. Enjoy their cool rendition.
