Yeah, covers of songs from musicals can often get a bad rep as being too theatrical and not being big on the contemporary aspect. But every now and then, a group comes along and proves this idea wrong.
You might remember the song "Defying Gravity" from the musical Wicked
as that one song that every choir girl loved. But we promise you've never heard it done quite like this arrangement by Two Past Midnight from Bucknell University. Somewhere between the heavy percussion and the unstoppable force of the lead's voice, the song feels current and meant for today's music scene.
