Watch As Open Fifth Bring A Smooth Twist To Their Live Performance Of Khalid's "Location"

Live performances don't get much smoother than this one.

In their latest video, the all-male a cappella group Open Fifth from Miami University rides the smooth groove they're throwing down in their cover of Khalid's "Location." I mean, there's enough ear candy for five videos as they masterfully display crisp harmonies, one stellar groove and plenty of texture to engage the stiffest audience.

From the start, the group sets the tone with the most beautiful backing ambiance we've had the pleasure of stumbling across in some time as the group is extremely tight with their harmonies and blend. While Khalid's original track has plenty of substance, it does a balancing act between R&B and alternative, whereas Open Fifth's sultry rendition is all R&B. This in turn heightens both the emotion and the delivery, as it feels like a modern ballad with a pulse.

The group's execution of dynamics is immaculate never taking the song pass what is needed, but still maintaining plenty of conviction.
And the percussion is tasteful, simply steering the groove in effortless fashion, and at times adding in cool tricks to keep everything progressing and building in the right direction.

Lead Duncan Thomas is flawless in his delivery showcasing emotional range as he pleads the message of the song. It's clear that he is an exceptional singer without needing to do very much, but still sells Khalid's hit song in calm, cool and collected fashion.

These are the types of performances that constantly give us the feels again and again.
